COLB Image Removed from Factcheck.org Website

ARE THEY GETTING NERVOUS, OR ARE THE WALLS COMING DOWN?

Image of what was purported by Factcheck.org to be Obama's "birth certificate" in August 2008

(Apr. 3, 2011) — It has been reported that the image of Obama’s purported Certification of Live Birth has been removed or is otherwise unavailable from the website of Factcheck.org as of April 3, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

A link from the original story now yields an error message.

The image still appears on Obama’s “Fight the Smears” website from 2008. Under the image there is a submission with Factcheck’s logo which reads:

When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom’s dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children.

Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.

The same webpage contains an initial statement also in the form of a message which can be sent by supporters to others which states:

Smears claiming Barack Obama doesn’t have a birth certificate aren’t actually about that piece of paper — they’re about manipulating people into thinking Barack is not an American citizen.

However, in January 2011, Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie stated that he couldn’t find a long-form birth certificate for Obama within the records at the Hawaii Department of Health, contrary to the statement of former Governor Linda Lingle, who insisted that her health department director, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, had seen it.

The Daily Kos is still displaying the image and identifying it as “Obama’s birth certificate.” A Certificate of Live Birth issued last year to a Hawaiian-born man shows more detail than the Certification of Live Birth on The Daily Kos website.

The COLB image is available at the Politifact website, which labels it “Obama’s birth certificate.”

Dr. Ron Polland has stated that the Certification of Live Birth “does not exist.” The Post & Email’s photographic expert, Mr. John F. Sweeney, as stated that it is a forgery.

In an interview with the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on January 18, Abercrombie had stated that Obama’s birth information “actually exists in the archives, written down …”

A researcher who traveled to Hawaii last summer found Obama’s birth information in a birth index book containing information from the years 1960-64. However, she stated that there was “an anomaly” in that particular record book as compared to the other birth indexes, which was the word “duplicate” appearing above Obama’s name. Another difference between the 1960-64 birth index and others was the topic of a recent finding disclosed by a blogger.

The Hawaii Department of Health has insisted on protecting Obama’s vital records, citing state privacy laws. Was the birth index data put in by computer entry after the fact, perhaps in 2007 or 2008 when he announced his candidacy for the presidency? Did Obama believe that he could convince the public of a Hawaii birth so as to satisfy the “natural born Citizen” requirement found in Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution?

Did he believe that having a British-citizen father was inconsequential?

Obama has admitted to having been born with dual citizenship. However, was he really born with solely British citizenship?

The Post & Email tried several times to ask Factcheck.org about the Certification of Live Birth which the organization posted as Obama’s official birth certificate in August 2008, but we received no response. We cited Factcheck’s original story, although at this time, none of the links from the article appear to work. The link to the statement of Dr. Chiyome Fukino now directs to the current page of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

Recently Donald Trump has raised questions about Obama’s Certification of Live Birth which appear to indicate that he or his staff have performed research on the differences between the image which Obama’s former press secretary, Robert Gibbs, claimed was Obama’s “birth certificate” and an original, “long-form” paper document containing the signature of the attending physician, registrar’s stamp, information about the parents and their birthplaces, and residence. The firestorm began when he appeared on “The View” and called for Obama to release his birth certificate.

Trump recently stated that Obama’s original birth certificate could indicate that Obama was designated a Muslim at birth. Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck of Fox News are now feeling a bit “uncomfortable” and in response, appear to be marginalizing Trump.

Are they afraid of what will happen if it is proven that Obama was not born in Hawaii or anywhere in the United States? What will that mean for their careers? Why does Beck say he wants to see presidential candidates who don’t say “provocative things”? What about journalistic investigations of candidates?

On April 1, it was announced that Trump will be appearing on Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends regularly on Monday mornings. The Post & Email recently wrote to Roger Ailes, President of Fox News Channel, regarding the dearth of coverage about the unanswered and uninvestigated questions on Obama’s birthplace, parentage, background, and eligibility for the presidency.

Several African publications claimed that Obama was born in Kenya prior to his announcement to seek the office of President.

  1. The image of Obama's birth certificate, the official Certification of Live Birth, is still available on FactCheck's site.

Here is confirmation that it is the official and only birth certificate that Hawaii issues

Here is the first of the two confirmations by the officials in Hawaii.

Notice where it says that there is an original birth certificate filed. Well, in 1961 foreign birth certificates, even those from other states, could not be filed in Hawaii. So the birth certificate in Obama’s files must be a Hawaii birth certificate.

Here is the second of the two confirmations by the officials in Hawaii.

Notice where it says that the document in the files VERIFIES that Obama was born in Hawaii. So, not only is there an official Hawaiian birth certificate in the files, but it says right on it that Obama was born in Hawaii. Hawaii has never allowed the Department of Health to issue a birth document of any kind that says on it that anyone was born in Hawaii unless there was proof that the child was born in Hawaii, and that is what the officials in Hawaii have confirmed twice.

And here is the confirmation by the former governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle, a Republican, that says that Obama was born in Hawaii, in Kapiolani Hospital
